How will therapy help me?

People often seek a therapist due to a crisis or possibly because they've developed an awareness that something is no longer working in their lives. I will work collaboratively with you to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself in order to help you cope with the feelings and symptoms that are no longer serving you well. With encouragement, compassion and empathy, we will discover solutions together.

Do I really need therapy?

We want to challenge the idea that somebody's life must be in complete disarray before they decide to seek therapeutic services. There isn't a certain criteria that needs to be met to be allowed to ask for help. When you're ready to accept it, that's when therapy is most effective. There is no definitive "perfect" time, but I believe you'll know when you're ready. Therapy is a healing, active, and ongoing conversation that requires your distinct level of commitment to the process in order for you to adequately reap the benefits.

Where is therapy conducted?

I have several different rooms with comfortable furniture and intimate atmospheres created to put you at ease throughout our session.

Is therapy confidential?

In a short answer: Yes. The content of what is shared during your session stays between you and your therapist. Confidentiality and trust are the cornerstones of a successful therapeutic relationship. There are, however, state law and professional ethics that require therapists to breach confidentiality in the following situations:

  • Suspected (past or present) abuse or neglect of children, adults and elders

  • If the therapist has reason to suspect the client is seriously in danger of harming him/herself or has threated to harm another person.
